Amino Acids

Amino Acids are the Building Block of Protein. There are different types of Amino Acids: Standard and Non-Standard there are also Essential and Nonessential Amino Acids. To put it in simple terms; the Standard Amino Acids are the ones that are in our bodies and are naturally occurring. The Non-Standard Amino Acids are also used by the body but they are formed or modified. The Essential Amino Acids are just that, Essential. We need Essential AA's and our body cannot produce them so we must consume them either from food sources or nutritional supplements. The Nonessential's are still needed by our body for everyday life but our body is cable of producing them. Even though our body can produce Nonessential AA's there may still be a need for additional supplementation depending on an individual’s needs. Some examples would be: L-Glutamine, L-Arginine and L-Cysteine, just to name a few. Amino Acids perform many functions within our bodies: they are used in hormone production, as neurotransmitters, metabolism, muscle building, immune response, as antioxidants and many more. The Amino Acids most frequently used by athletes or bodybuilders are: L-Glutamine, the BCAA's (Leucine/Isoleucine/Valine), L-Arginine, L-Carnitine, Beta Alanine, L-Citrulline and a pretty big one Creatine (formed by three Amino Acids). We carry Amino Acids in Liquid, Powder and pill form from the top manufactures in the Nutritional Supplement Industry.
